Driving value of scalable generative AI, Google Cloud, and modern instructional technology for K–12 school districts.
Trafera accelerates innovation in instructional technology with RapidScale
Overview
Trafera is an educational technology company that supports K-12 school districts across the U.S. with classroom devices, support, and professional learning. The company created TRAILS, a library of technology-rich lesson plans designed to help educators integrate digital tools into teaching and learning.
Outcomes that matter
RapidScale helped Trafera modernize its TRAILS application using generative AI and Google Cloud to create lesson plans faster and reduce manual content management. The new model enables scalable AI-driven lesson creation, reduces operational overhead, speeds platform innovation, and expands value for school districts.
- Educators can dynamically generate customized instructional plans instead of manually managing lesson libraries.
- AI-driven generation reduces the time required to produce high-quality instructional resources grounded in research-backed teaching strategies.
- Trafera can shift team focus from static lesson maintenance to higher-impact work.
- School districts gained access to a more flexible and scalable platform that helps teachers integrate technology into instruction more effectively.

We had a vision for an application, and we were able to build a prototype that did what we wanted it to do, but it wasn’t scalable and we couldn’t deploy it. RapidScale took that vision and turned it into a fully functional, scalable platform that we could deliver to our customers.

Outcomes that matter
RapidScale helped Trafera transform its original concept into a production-ready platform that supports educators at scale. The new model enables scalable AI-driven lesson creation, reduces operational overhead, speeds platform innovation, and expands value for school districts.

The challenge
As TRAILS scaled to more than 700 lesson plans, Trafera’s static content model became harder to maintain, update, and scale. The organization also had an early generative AI prototype, but it could not scale or be deployed to clients.
-
Lessons depended on third-party tools and websites that changed or became outdated, creating continuous maintenance work.
-
Static lesson formats constrained Trafera’s ability to expand coverage across grades, subjects, and instructional scenarios.
-
Trafera lacked the internal engineering capacity to turn its prototype into a production-ready application.
The solution
RapidScale partnered with Trafera to design and build TRAILS 2.0, an AI-enabled platform built on Google Cloud Platform that can dynamically generate instructional content for educators. The solution combined cloud-native architecture, generative AI models, CI/CD automation, and user interface integration to support scale, stability, and ongoing feature expansion.
